
PABLO SCHATZMAN
VIOLIN
Born in Lyon, Pablo Schatzman studied violin with Tibor Varga in Switzerland, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Lyon, and later in New York at the Manhattan School of Music with Pinchas Zukerman.
He has performed in France and internationally in prestigious venues and festivals such as the Cité de la Musique, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra Comique, Musée d'Orsay, Lille Opera, Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, La Folle Journée (Nantes and Japan), and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Pablo has collaborated in chamber music with artists including Pinchas Zukerman, Anna Chumachenko, Joseph Silverstein, Pierre Fouchenneret, Lisa Schatzman, Lidija and Sanja Bizjak, François Salque, Victor Julien-Laferrière, and the Danel Quartet. As a soloist, he has performed under conductors such as Peter Csaba, Benjamin Levy, and Ludovic Morlot.
He is a laureate of the Maurice Ravel Academy Prize and the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition.
Pablo Schatzman is concertmaster of the Musica Nigella ensemble and a member of the ensemble Les Dissonances.
He co-directs a concert series in Tourcoing alongside pianist Jean-Michel Dayez and, since 2020, serves as the artistic director of the Éole en Musiques festival in Paimboeuf.
His recordings—including Ravel’s Tzigane, Chausson’s Concert, Beethoven’s Opus 1 Trios with the Leos Trio, and Bartók’s Sonata for Solo Violin—have received acclaim from major publications such as Télérama, Classica, and Le Monde.
Alongside his performing career, Pablo is also a dedicated teacher, holding positions at the Saint-Cloud Conservatory and the Rueil-Malmaison Regional Conservatory (CRR), and regularly gives masterclasses.
In 2022, he joined the Élysée String Quartet.
