ANDREI MALAKHOV

 VIOLA

Andrei Malakhov studied viola at the Lyssenko School of Music and the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv.

 

He went on to earn a Master's degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Gérard Caussé, and later continued his training at the École Normale de Musique de Paris with Pierre-Henri Xuereb.

A prize-winner of international competitions in Ukraine, Slovakia, and Finland, he has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the globe, collaborating with renowned artists such as Henri Demarquette, Zakhar Bron, Anton Martynov, László Hadady, Julie Fuchs, Roman Mints, Annick Roussin, Valérie Aimard, Christophe Desjardins, Igor Volochine, Boris Baraz, and Naaman Sluchin.

Passionate about contemporary music, Andrei is a member of the ensembles Le Balcon and Maja, and has worked closely with leading composers including Pierre Boulez, Michael Lévinas, Peter Eötvös, Valentin Silvestrov, Stefano Gervasoni, among others.
